Conversando con Cassie Alexander
Hace un tiempo tuve la oportunidad de conversar con Cassie Alexander, autora de romance paranormal y fantasía urbana, en una entrevista profundamente cercana, inspiradora y muy especial para mí.
Además de hablar sobre su amor por la fantasía, la construcción de mundos y la forma en que la escritura se convierte en refugio, esta conversación tiene un significado muy personal: Cassie fue una de las personas que más influyó en mis primeros pasos dentro de la autopublicación.
Con una generosidad que admiro profundamente, fue casi quien me enseñó a autopublicar por KDP. Tuvo toda la disposición de reunirse conmigo, explicarme el proceso, orientarme cuando todo apenas comenzaba y hasta compartirme créditos en una tecnología emergente de inteligencia artificial para imágenes, para que pudiera crear una nueva portada para mis libros en un momento en que esa posibilidad apenas empezaba a existir.
Esa amplitud, esa apertura y esa forma tan desinteresada de compartir herramientas y conocimiento es algo que valoro enormemente. Siempre ha estado ahí cuando tengo una duda, una pregunta o necesito una guía, y por eso mi admiración hacia ella va mucho más allá de su trabajo como escritora.
En esta charla hablamos de creatividad, fantasía, romance paranormal, agotamiento, escritura como refugio y del valor de construir comunidad entre autores desde la generosidad y no desde el ego.

Some time ago, I had the chance to sit down with Cassie Alexander, author of paranormal romance and urban fantasy, for a conversation that was not only inspiring, but deeply meaningful to me on a personal level.
Beyond talking about her love for fantasy, worldbuilding, and the way writing can become a refuge, this interview carries a very special significance in my own journey as an author. Cassie was one of the people who most shaped my earliest steps into self-publishing.
With a generosity I deeply admire, she was almost the one who taught me how to self-publish through KDP. She took the time to meet with me, walk me through the process, answer my questions when everything still felt new, and even shared credits with me for an emerging AI image technology so I could create a new cover for my books at a time when those tools were just beginning to exist.
That openness, that willingness to share knowledge and tools without ego, is something I value tremendously. She has always been there whenever I had a question or needed guidance, and my admiration for her goes far beyond her work as a writer.
In this conversation, we talk about creativity, urban fantasy, paranormal romance, burnout, writing as refuge, and the beauty of building community among authors through generosity and support.
